Experiment 4.1 Phylum Basidiomycota


In this lab, we were to look for mushrooms during our nature walk for 2.1.  However, it has been too dry so we had to use store bought button and portabella mushrooms to examine the different parts of the mushroom.
I am afraid the students were not able to examine much by way of the microscope.  I only have 1 picture from my reexamination.
I believe what I am looking at is a mushroom gill and basidiospores.  When I searched the web, I found a similar image (see below):
